I agree with Viviane....
Additionally, that pyramid is kinda cool. I say, "You go Charles Taze Russel!"
so i live pretty close to the jw pyramid in pittsburgh and i have thought about going there and attaching a sign of some sort to the pyramid.
i was thinking of using a qrcode to link to something.

jesus was thirty was he was baptized.
today, you hear of young children getting baptized as young as 10 years old.
the parents, family and congregation think it's a wonderful idea that someone dedicates their life to jehovah at such a young age.
cut the cord.
sever all ties.
start new.. and she's right.
Julia,
Firstly, I am sorry that you are having a hard time. Based on some of your past submissions, it is obvious that the cultish nature of this religion has really got a hold of you. I would suggest, as some already have, that you see a counselor, and no, it doesn't have to be someone that specializes in cults. It may be that you have to address other issues that are the underlayment of why the ORG affects you so much. You mention that you did not do well at the job where your mother works, and then you attribute some of that to the ORG's affect over your life. Speaking to a counselor will help you get to the root of that aspect of your personality that is sabotaging you. We all have something that affects our decision, our effort, our perspective. Please find someone that will help you address it. Ultimately, we have to move on. We are responsible for ourselves, our actions, our happiness. If the ORG is truly the cause of your distress, then their influence on you in unhealthy and unproductive. You need some help in addressing how to let go of that grip. It is similar to a romantic relationship that goes bad.....some move on with the idea that there are plenty of fish in the sea, others are consumed by the break up....I would expect most counselors could help address that sort of issue. Good luck.
my wife's parents who are pretty obsessed with the watchtower religion are going on holiday more than they are at home these days and spending money like it is something evil to be got rid of.
i have not been to a meeting in a long time but after reading the thread on hysteria by campaign of hate and the whole tv broadcasting thing i got to wondering if they really are ramping up the 'sense of urgency'.
many on here are better informed than me so i'd be interested to hear whether this is a common thing..
i'm looking for some clever comebacks.
i really don't care that i am an apostate, but would like to deliver a quick comeback or two to perhaps make the other person think.
any suggestions most welcome.
if you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.
its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.
there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".
i have come to a startling and sad realisation!.
i have no real friends!.
i have always been extremely active in every aspect of the org, since childhood.
The Searcher stated that there are "countless others" out there just like you. I agree. For years, you have been taught that the only friend is someone in the congregation. Well, having been in your position especially since I started to fade, I changed my tactics. I started to reach out to people that I respected in my industry. I made lunch plans, golf dates, and started contacting them for advice in business and industry. I have found a handful of true friends. People who have my back and know that I have theirs.
I realize that in the end, we are lucky to have a handful of true friends. Having been in the ORG all my life, I realized that there was only one real friend that I had. The others were conditional and our friendship was based on our religious interactions or they were so screwed up by the constant judging and scrutiny that they were not much good in times of crisis.
Don't let it get you down. Go to your neighbourhood starbucks and look on the information board. Join a club. Join a language group. An interest group. Start a band. Go on a cancer walk. Volunteer for something. Turn off the freaking TV and go back to school. You will find, as The Searcher states, there are "countless others."
so manipulaitve.

christ, my mind feels f***ed.
there is so many layers of indoctrination and rules and regulations in this, whatever this is (religion?
cult?
so i have gotten into arguements with my wife in the past about this cult.
now a days after reading steve hassan books...i just try and avoid anything jdub with her.
try to keep her in authentic mode..(not sure she really has one).
Ephesians 2:9- Written by the Apostle Paul...."For it is by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God...NOT BY WORKS, so that no one can boast."
There it is...clear as crystal. Works will NOT save you. You can work all you like....it is futile....
